There is often a thesis which is dedicated to parents, friends, teachers.
Is the acknowledgment given to the pedagogue (yeah I checked the spelling) sufficient?
Two trains of thought
1. How does one repay this great gift/inheritance
2. How much of the credit actually belongs to the student itself?
Addressing the second one, is there such a student as unteachable? or put another way is there a teacher? The student, given enough motivation will seek the knowledge. The teacher is a medium to minimize the search and make the process streamlined.
As for the repayment the best way seems to be continuing the process of passing on the knowledge. Science may shed new light about the eleventh planet but that is just information. But the process of discovery and innate curiosity is what creates the substance or basis of knowledge.
